Note from the Designer

My inspiration for these bags comes from my many travels and belief in the beauty of journeying into the unknown. The carvings derived from the lotus flower, which have been carved in a baroque style. It is a remarkable flower that survives in the murkiest of waters only to bloom in the light. This mirrors my path in life, where I have overcome adversity to manifest my dreams of creating a better world one step at a time, or rather one bag at a time. The lotus flower is a symbol of hope, re-birth and light at the end of the tunnel.

The Ares by Sandra Holstad bags are made from 100% genuine cow leather. Designed in the United States, each bag is then hand tooled by some of the world's finest craftsmen. This ensures that no two bags are alike. Their craft takes them years to perfect and there are only a handful of such artisans alive in the world. By buying these bags, we are enabling this craft to survive and hopefully expand with more artisans being trained in this art form. By buying these bags you are helping to keep an art form alive, creating jobs, and helping the charities that we support.
